Coherent control of the electron spin resonance and RF pulse fixing for the spin control instruments: 07/2015 – 09/2015 The Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC), University of Waterloo Advisor: Prof. Dr. Raymond Laflamme & Dr. Guanru Feng Description:

  • Explored analytical solutions of Rabi model
  • Applied signal processing methods to experiment data analyzing
  • Analyzed transfer function of linear response system and improved the measurement of the transfer function
  • Studied basic error correction algorithms and their implement
  • Investigated how the instruments for the electron spin resonance are constructed
  • Developed an understanding on the relationship of models and experiments

Numerical solution to superconducting BdG equations in some reduced cases: 04/2015 - 06/2015 Dept. of Physics, Tsinghua University Advisor: Assistant Research Fellow Dr. Ben Xu Description:

  • Learned mean field theory and BdG equation;
  • Numerically computed the wave functions with periodic boundary conditions in 2 and 3 spatial dimensions;
  • Studied the phase transitions and critical points.

Basic Training in Optics and Construction of Laser: 09/2014 – 12/2014 Dept. of Physics, Tsinghua University Advisor: Associate Prof. Shuo Jiang Description:

  • Constructed a simple laser from scratch, including purchasing optical instruments, learning the basic construction of a laser, and building the optical path.

Tool: Basic Optical Instrument; Laser Construction Non-Markovian Dynamics of Open Quantum Systems without Rotating Wave Approximation 04/2014 – 06/2014 Dept. of Physics, Tsinghua University Advisor: Prof. Xiang-Bin Wang Description:

  • Studied the non-Markovian dynamics of a damped oscillator coupled with a reservoir
  • Found that the non-Markovian feature exists within a wide range of the even small coupling strength

Breakthrough:

  • This project advances the literature when compared with previous findings that are based on rotating wave approximation
  • Together with prior results at a strong coupling, our study provides convincing evidence on the issue of non-Markovian feature

Measurement of H^2/D^2 Isotope Shift by Diffraction Grating: 10/2013 – 12/2013 Dept. of Physics, Tsinghua University Description:

  • Used grating to measure the isotope shift of H^2/D^2
